Correction in these magnifiers is achieved though the use of a single thick lens with a central groove diagram, This provides a sharp, crisp image. Like the Hastings Triplets, the Coddington magnifiers have a swing-away nickel-plated case.

Hastings triplet magnifiers are highly corrected

A swing-away, nickel-plated case protects the lens and serves as a handle.
